Dan Carey creates paintings that express his interest in vintage television shows, networks, and schedules. Mr. Carey is also passionate about local news, weather, and sports anchors, and they frequently become subjects of his paintings. Carey’s work often contains painted or written personal text – phrases he has heard others say and activities he enjoys. In addition to a retrospective of his work atArtSpace Gallery Buffalo, Carey has exhibited at the University of Toledo Center for the Visual Arts Gallery in Ohio, and Daemen College Visual and Performing Arts Center Gallery, among many others. In 2016 Carey’s work was featured in the two-person exhibition “Barney Miller,” with noted WNY artist Julian Montague, at ASI’s Atrium Gallery.
